Feel powerful. Also try this when you sit down to write your cover letter and resume or university applications.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Erard\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com\/2012\/09\/29\/escaping-ones-own-shadow-in-writing\/\">Escaping One\u2019s Own Shadow<\/a>\u201d advises you to \u201ccleanse your linguistic palate\u201d before sitting down to write by reading authorial styles that differ a great deal from that of the piece you are writing.
