I didn&#8217;t get the job, but I learned a ton &#8211; and got to walk around that newspaper&#8217;s hallowed newsroom a bit. We all revered that newspaper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/media\/2026\/feb\/04\/washington-post-layoffs\">Today&#8217;s news was expected but is dismaying nonetheless<\/a>. The oligarchs of America seek to starve its citizens. They are starting with what were established sources of reliable information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/ky_0Oa3rDYk\">Yuval Noah Harari<\/a> has said that institutions can take generations to build &#8211; establishing trust and proving reliability &#8211; but they are nonetheless brittle.
