Don’t over-hashtag.<\/em> “Too many hashtags can make you look spammy or desperate if you\u2019re using ones that aren\u2019t relevant to your post. Even if you gain followers, it\u2019s often the wrong kind of follower\u2014like bots or people only interested in being followed back.”<\/p>\n

Don’t hop on trending topics.<\/em> “Just because there\u2019s buzz around a topic, that doesn\u2019t mean people want to hear from you on the topic.\u00a0If it\u2019s not relevant to your brand and target audience, your efforts will fall flat and you might turn people off.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
